Cold water therapy is a technique often used by athletes and individuals to reduce muscle soreness and reduce recovery time after exercise. There is widespread anecdotal evidence that suggests that cold water immersion can boost the immune system. Firstly there are the basic plunge tubs which are filled with cold water to which ice can be added but these have no other method of keeping the water at a regular temperature. Then there is the more popular temperature controlled ice bath often used in commercial settings. These have a filtration system together with a water sanitising ozone system and water chiller unit which can reduce the water temperature from 15 degrees down to 3 degrees in a few hours. These units can also heat the water if you choose to have a hot soak. All of the ice baths supplied by Aquasun are suitable for outdoor use.
