How often should I change my Hot Tub water?
The HotSpring hot tub range features a very effective filtration system, which means if your hot tub is properly maintained following typical family usage, the water will only need changing every 4 months. The reason behind replenishing your water is that the level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the water increases over time through adding chemicals. If however the water has not been maintained or there has been a period of extra heavy usage then it makes sense to change the water more often.
Hot Tubs with a Salt Water Sanitising System
If you have purchased a HotSpring Hot tub with a Salt Water sanitising system, then water change intervals can be extended to anything up to one year. This is due to the fact that far less chemicals are being added to the water because of the system, therefore the TDS levels remain lower for much longer.
Consequently, the Freshwater Salt System provides a much more low maintenance and pleasurable experience, with no chlorine smells as well as reduced electricity costs.
